Instant response:: Babel- Mumford and Sons

So it’s been a long time coming and a lot of pressure on everyone’s favourite indie/folk band but today the world has finally received the second Mumford And Sons album. After 3 long years of waiting ‘Babel’ has arrived; needless to say I was very excited to get it through my door on pre-order this morning.

Having only heard it once through, this is just a quick response but the first listen’s offering up another profound yet quirky atmosphere. Emergent songs on the album so far are the already released ‘I Will Wait’, another gripping sing along track, that is so powerful that one feels butterflies (or is that just me?). Not all songs are your classic footstompers that Mumford do so well but there are also some beautifully somber ones on there too , such as ‘Ghosts That We Knew’ that exposes the raw talent in Marcus Mumford’s voice and will make the most primal man want to pour out his emotions to plucking banjos.
